We strive to make this website accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on Barrier-Free Access to Websites and Mobile Applications of the Federal Government (Web Accessibility Act – WZG), Federal Law Gazette I No. 59/2019 as amended.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with Conformance Level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1” and the applicable European standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03), pursuant to Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Due to the historical development of the website, we assume that its content is not fully accessible.


The following content is not accessible for the following reasons:


a. Non-compliance with accessibility requirements

  • Some images and buttons lack alternative text, or the alternative text does not accurately describe the image.
  • Some tables do not have headers; in some cases, titles are missing or the heading structure is incorrect; lists are not formatted as such or are missing ARIA labels.
  • The contrast requirements for text and non-text content according to WCAG Level AA are currently not fully met across the website.
  • The structure and labeling of headings and form fields are being continuously revised to improve clarity and usability for all users.
  • The requirement for content to reflow at high magnification without loss of information or functionality is mostly fulfilled; content generally remains usable even at high zoom levels.
  • Keyboard navigation is generally available on the website. Most functions can be used without a mouse, though there are minor limitations with some elements.
  • We plan to gradually fix issues that can be addressed editorially (e.g., missing alternative texts for images).
  • We also plan to gradually resolve issues that can be addressed technically (e.g., limited usability).

b. Disproportionate burden

  • The tab order or menu position is partially incorrect.
  • Our videos are hosted and published partly on this website and partly on the video platform YouTube. It is not possible to provide the required audio descriptions for some of these videos.

c. Content not within the scope of applicable legislation

  • Historical documents (e.g., older images and PDF files) are not, or only partially, accessible for screen reader users and are not sufficiently scalable.

This statement was prepared on June 12, 2025. It is based on an evaluation carried out by Waldhart Software GmbH.

Enforcement procedure

If you do not receive a satisfactory response via the contact option mentioned above, you may file a complaint with the complaints office of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). The FFG accepts complaints electronically via the complaints office contact form.
The FFG will assess whether the complaint concerns violations of the Web Accessibility Act, particularly shortcomings in compliance with accessibility requirements by the federal government or affiliated entities.
If the complaint is justified, the FFG will issue recommendations to the federal government or the relevant legal entities and suggest measures to eliminate the existing deficiencies.
